Job summary

IR Centers at Kansas City Urology Care (KCUC) is a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab in the U.S. We lead minimally invasive procedures by providing interventional radiology services in an outpatient setting.

This is a full-time Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) position at KCUC. You will prepare patients and rooms, maintain a sterile environment, pass instruments to physicians, assist with patient positioning, and help with transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid BLS Certification required.
• Surgical technologist / Scrub Tech with 2 years of experience.
• ARRT/CST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
• Reviews orders to determine materials and sets up/cleans rooms.
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures with sterile technique.
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up labels for IV medications, and processes x-ray images.
• Manages equipment maintenance, inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
• Ensures effective communication with physicians.
• Assists with patient billing and CPT/ICD codes.

As a Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) atKCUC, you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, day shift.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Valid BLS Certification
• Surgical technologist / Scrub Tech experience: 2 years
• ARRT // CST Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities:

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
• Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
• Ensures effective communication with physicians
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes

Skills:

• Proven working experience as a surgical technologist
• Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
• Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
• Working knowledge of interventional equipment

Working conditions:

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
