Job summary

Qualifications

  • Equivalent education or experience may be considered in lieu of the above.
  • Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist or licensed as LPN/RN/Physician per legal requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in patient care by prepping and maintaining Operating Rooms for surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with scheduling teams and surgeons to coordinate cases.
  • Maintain vigilance of instruments and supplies during procedures in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety and sterile technique.
  • Assist with post-operative tasks including decontamination and turnover of the OR.

The Harborview Operating Rooms has an outstanding opportunity for a Surgical Technologist.

WORK SCHEDULE
  • Part-Time / 36 Hours per week
  • Rotating/Variable Shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Work in a technological, fast-paced, and exciting department
  • Utilize knowledge of operations of individual pieces of equipment and skillfully maintain instruments and supplies to meet the demands of the department.
  • The Surgeons in the Harborview Operating Room are world-renowned, with clients from all over the country
  • Work with many tools that are technologically advanced and are on the cutting edge for many types of procedures

Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
  • Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
  • Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room
Required Position Qualifications

Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT

Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist, or licensed in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse or Physician.
