Humboldt General Hospital is seeking an OR technician/surgical tech to assist the surgical team in providing safe and efficient care during procedures. The role involves preparing surgical instruments, maintaining sterility, and ensuring patient comfort. Candidates should possess a high school diploma, relevant training, and certification as a surgical tech.
POSITION SUMMARY The OR technician/surgical tech may be a RN, LPN, or scrub tech. The scrub tech is qualified to assemble supplies, prepare and maintain the sterile field, anticipate the needs of the sterile team during a surgical procedure, and to provide a safe, efficient environment for the patient and team. The surgical tech ensures the operating suite is adequately prepared for procedures. The surgical tech is responsible for monitoring the appropriate level of surgical instruments and supplies. Upon completion of the procedure, the surgical tech is responsible for caring for the used equipment and supplies, disposing of contaminated articles in a safe manner and assisting with patient care as indicated. The surgical tech will provide technical services, assist in the operating room/procedure room, and central supply as assigned and directed. |

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS |
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Must possess a high school diploma PREFERRED EDUCATION: Vocational/specialized training for surgical technicians MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year preferred REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Experience as a surgical tech or current certification as a certified surgical tech PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Certified Surgical Tech, current BLS certification, complete 15 CEUs annually SPECIAL SKILLS: NA SUPERVISES: NA PHYSICIAL DEMANDS: For physical demands and working conditions, see next page. |
