Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a Surgical Technician/Technologist to support the operating room and endoscopy environment. The role focuses on preparing the OR, maintaining sterility, assisting surgeons, and upholding infection control and safety standards.

Eligible candidates should have knowledge of aseptic techniques, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure. Prior surgical tech experience or completion of an accredited program is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires BLS (AHA) certification.
• Two years of surgical technician experience preferred or completion of an accredited program.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse individuals.
• Ability to perform under highly stressful situations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software.
• High degree of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the OR Circulating RN in preparing the room for surgery, including opening sterile packages and selecting equipment.
• Set up instruments and equipment required for surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room throughout procedures.
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards during patient care.
• Assist with cleaning the surgical suite and related areas.
• Check expiration dates and condition of supplies and equipment; rotate stock and replace outdated items.
• Improve efficiency of surgeons and team members.
• Provide guidance and instruction to fellow coworkers as needed.
• Serve on committees and participate as a professional member of the Surgical Services team.
• Assist with patient transport to and from surgery when required.
• Participate in continuing education and workshops for professional growth.
• Assist with orientation and training of new employees.
• Occasionally perform duties in Sterile Processing Department as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The position requires knowledge of aseptic techniques, effective communication skills, and the ability to perform under stressful conditions. Prior surgical tech experience or completion of an accredited program is preferred.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.
• Experience in the majority of surgical services provided at the facility.

Special Considerations:

• Call duty is required.
• Must be able to anticipate surgeon and patient needs in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.

Scheduling:

• 10-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
