Job summary

Elliot Vascular Surgery in Manchester, NH seeks a Surgical Technician Ambulatory to support perioperative care in a fast-paced cardiovascular setting. You will ensure supplies, prepare rooms, and assist the surgeon and team to achieve safe, efficient procedures.

The role requires a surgical technology background or current student, BLS certification, and NH state certification if applicable. On-site schedule with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience required.
• NH Surgical Technician certification required unless licensed in NH.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability and preparedness of supplies and equipment for peri- and intraoperative processes.
• Prepare visit charts with diagnostic results, discharge summaries, and reports for provider access.
• Obtain, document, and process specimens using appropriate procedures.
• Prepare procedure room before procedures.
• Collaborate with specialty physicians to acquire equipment.
• Assist proceduralist and team to facilitate optimal patient outcomes, including patient positioning and instrument passing.
• Stand for prolonged periods and hear team communications while masked.
• Maintain sterile technique and professional patient care environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Job:

The Surgical Technician Ambulatory will perform a variety of duties which assist the surgeon in carrying out a safe surgical procedure with optimal results for the patient. They will function as an integral member of the Procedure Room team and contribute to maintaining a professional, respectful, and effective peri- and intraoperative processes.

What You’ll Do:

• Ensure the availability and preparedness of supplies and equipment needed to support efficient and effective peri- and intraoperative processes.
• Perform visit chart preparation activities based on the daily scheduled appointments, including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries, and consult/PCP reports, ensuring they are in the medical record and accessible to the provider. Anticipate care information to support the provider visit.
• Obtain, document, and process specimens using the appropriate collection process and equipment.
• Prepare the procedure room before the procedure.
• Collaborate with specialty physicians to acquire new/special equipment for procedures.
• Assist the proceduralist and other members of the procedure team throughout the surgical process to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. Verify correct patient/correct procedure, assist with patient transfers, prep, and drape the patient, position patient to prevent injury, and accurately anticipate need for instrumentation and pass instruments to the proceduralist.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to hear spoken communication from other team members, wo may be wearing masks.
• Maintain strict sterile technique during procedure.
• Ensure a professional, respectful, and effective patient care and working environment through consistent use of appropriate interpersonal and communication skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate OR student of an approved Surgical Technologist Program, or experience as a Surgical Technician required.
• BLS Certification required.
• Surgical Technician Certification from the State of New Hampshire is required unless another current NH state license is held.
• Previous operating room surgical experience preferred.
