Job summary

Providence Covenant Hobbs Hospital is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist to maintain a sterile operating room field, pass instruments and supplies, and assist the nurse in circulating duties during procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology or Armed Services Surgical Technology program.
• National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire or,
• National Tech in Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Testing upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the operating room sterile field and passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery.
• Ensures aseptic technique is used to prevent contamination and infection.
• Assists the registered nurse with circulating duties.

Job description

As a member of the surgical team, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse Circulator, maintains the operating room sterile field; passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery. Insures that proper aseptic technique is utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Assists the registered nurse with circulating duties.
