Job summary

Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA seeks a Surgical Technician to join the OR team. The role is full-time with 10-hour day shifts, reporting to the RN Circulator and maintaining a sterile field while passing instruments and supplies during procedures.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an AST-accredited program, NBSTSA certification, and BLS. Prior OR scrub experience in spine, joints, open-heart, or eye services is preferred.

• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

• Assists the registered nurse with circulating duties and ensures aseptic technique.

Surgical Technician - Surgery at Providence St. Jude Medical Center, Fullerton, CA. This position is Full Time and will work 10-hour, Day shifts.

As a member of the surgical team, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse Circulator, maintains the operating room sterile field; passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery. Ensures that proper aseptic technique is utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Assists the registered nurse with circulating duties.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of a program accredited by the Association of Surgical Technicians.
• Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Experience with proficient scrubbing in one or more: Complex Spine, Total Joints, Open Hearts (chest), and the Eye Service.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of Recent operating room experience.
