Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK, is hiring a Surgical Technician Resident to support intraoperative care alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff. You will handle instruments and supplies and help maintain a sterile environment during procedures.

The residency lasts at least 6 months with increasing responsibilities as you progress. A completed Surgical Technology program (CAAHEP/ABHES) or equivalent military training is required, plus BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technology program through CAAHEP/ABHES or Surgical Technology Military Training program.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

• Works with surgeons, Anesthesiologists, RNs and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care during surgery.
• Assists with instruments, supplies, and equipment; maintains sterile environment; anticipates the surgeon's needs.
• Participates in onboarding residency lasting at least 6 months and assumes increasing responsibility as residency progresses.

Works with surgeons, Anesthesiologists, RNs, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care during surgery. Works with a preceptor and assumes increased responsibility during the residency, the surgical tech resident is accountable for handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure, anticipates the needs of the surgeon in providing these, and maintains a sterile environment.

We are hiring for Surgical Technician Resident position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Variable shifts, 40 hours per week.

$10,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Required qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Completion of a Surgical Technology program through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or graduated from a Surgical Technology Military Training program.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
