Job summary

U K Healthcare Ltd is seeking a perioperative scrub technician for a per-diem Level 3 contract. The role requires scrubbing at least four services, and working 216 hours over six weeks with 36 hours each week, including late days and on-call shifts as scheduled.

You will pass surgical instruments, maintain sterile fields, assist with case counts, and ensure all supplies are ready. Holiday coverage is required. Perioperative sites vary by assignment.

Responsibilities

• Pass surgical instruments in the operating room.
• Maintain strict sterile field and assist/perform case counts.
• Obtains necessary supplies/instruments for such cases and checks for completeness and working order.
• Opens room independently or in conjunction with the circulating nurse (depending on case complexity).
• Sets up and maintains sterile field until the patient exits the room.
• Maintains a neat and orderly sterile field during each case.
• Passes instruments to surgeons, anticipating needs.
• Monitors for breaks in sterile technique and takes corrective action when identified.
• Performs counts in accordance with policy.

• This is a per-diem position being offered as a LEVEL 3 contract only which requires working 216 hours per 6 weeks schedule (36 hours/week). Must be able to work at any perioperative site and proficiently scrub at least 4 services, excluding CT & Transplant. Must cover two “late” days per pay period. One Weekday and One Weekend call shift every schedule at the director’s discretion. Summer & Winter holiday requirement.
