Job summary

CenterPoint Health – Versailles in Kentucky is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to support the operating room on a PRN basis. The role requires maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments, and assisting surgeons during procedures.

You will perform instrument and sponge counts, handle and label specimens, and help sterilize and restock the OR. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program is required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies for patient safety.
• Handle, label, and maintain specimens according to protocol.

How you'll contribute

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Additional requirements include:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (or eligibility to obtain within a specified timeframe)

• Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire

• Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical procedures, and instrumentation

• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills
