It is adaptable to all specialties, featuring 3 operating rooms, 6 Preop/5 PACU Bays, and 1 Consultant Room. Position Summary

This role involves selecting and placing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgeries. The technician scrubs in and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Prepares for surgical procedures by pulling appropriate instruments and supplies, ensuring good working order, reviewing case carts, and planning ahead for upcoming cases.
2. Anticipates the surgeon's needs by passing instruments, retracting tissue, and operating equipment during surgery.
3. Demonstrates aseptic technique and universal precautions, disposes of sharps and trash properly, participates in counting sharps, instruments, and sponges, and prepares instruments for cleaning.
4. Ensures accuracy of surgeon preference cards and pick lists.
5. Assists with operating room turnover, stocking, replenishing supplies, and cleaning.
6. May provide administrative support to the department as needed.
7. Performs all functions in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, accreditation standards, and professional standards.
8. Provides excellent customer service by demonstrating core and leadership behaviors daily.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. BLS certification.
3. Registration with the State Regulatory Agency, if applicable.
4. Manual dexterity and ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Graduation from a certified surgical technology program or 2 years OR experience.
