Qualifications

• Ability to respond quickly to surgeon and patient needs; maintain professional decorum in stressful environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures; pulls and prepares instruments and supplies.
• Anticipates surgeon needs; passes instruments and assists during surgery.
• Maintains aseptic technique and universal precautions; handles sharps and waste properly.
• Ensures accuracy of surgeon preference cards and pick lists.
• Assists with OR turnover and stocking of supplies; may provide departmental administrative support.
