Colonial Group is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in the operating room by selecting and placing instruments and supplies during procedures. You will scrub in, pass tools, and support the surgical team with sterile supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required where applicable.
• Must maintain professional decorum in stressful emergent situations.
• Conscientious, organized and orderly with quick response to surgeon and patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures and pulls instruments and supplies.
• Anticipates surgeon needs, passes instruments and assists during surgery.
• Maintains aseptic technique and proper disposal of sharps and waste.
• Counts sharps, instruments and sponges and prepares instruments for cleaning.
• Ensures accuracy of surgeon preference cards and pick lists.
• Assists with OR turnover and stock replenishment as needed.
