Responsibilities

• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment across various surgeries.
• Set up sterile fields and ensure required items are ready for procedures.
• Plan with surgical professionals to secure supplies before operations.
• Prepare and maintain complex sterile surgical setups.
• Assist in positioning, prepping, and supplying the patient during procedures.
• Maintain infection control and assist with specimen handling.
• Count sponges and instruments; track equipment during surgery.
• Assist in training residents and students in OR procedures.
• Perform non-technical maintenance for equipment and keep the OR area organized.
• Monitor hazards and participate in quality improvement activities.
