Job summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking Surgical Technicians and Senior Surgical Technicians to support operating room teams. The role involves preparing and handling surgical instruments, assisting the surgeon, and providing age-appropriate patient care.

Candidates may have 1 year of tech experience or a surgical technology diploma or apprentice program completion. Senior level requires at least three years in surgical technology and certification options (CST/CSA/TS-C/CORST/CSFA).

Qualifications

• 1 year surgical tech experience OR completion of a surgical tech program (Diploma) OR successful completion of a surgical tech apprentice program
• Three years as a Surgical Technician
• One of: CST, CSA, TS-C, CORST, or CSFA certifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle surgical instruments and equipment, assisting the surgeon during procedures
• Administer care and use of equipment based on patient age and needs
• Prioritize, plan and problem-solve effectively, adapting to changing situations during surgeries
• Respond promptly to urgent or emergency situations
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system and aseptic technique in all patient and family interactions
