Job summary

Key duties include preparing instruments and the operating room, assisting physicians during procedures, labeling medications, and educating patients.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient care and working with physicians and caregivers.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instruments.
• Proficiency in basic math and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Support the full surgical experience: pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care.
• Prepare instruments, equipment, and the operating room for procedures.
• Assist the physician during procedures as needed.
• Verify correct patient, procedure, and surgical site in the OR.
• Ensure all medications and solutions (including tumescent) are clearly and properly labeled.
• Maintain a sterile environment and clean/disinfect surgical instruments and rooms.
• Educate patients and caregivers on procedures, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Support patient discharge and return post-op calls.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and audit patient records.
