Job summary

St. Joseph Health is seeking a Surgical Tech to assist in preparing the operating room and supporting a variety of surgical procedures for patients in Bryan/College Station, TX. You will set up instruments, assist the surgical team, and maintain a sterile environment to contribute to patient healing.

Applicants should be adaptable, collaborative, and enthusiastic about complex procedures. They should demonstrate strong knowledge of surgical equipment and communicate with Biomedical Services for

Qualifications

• Must have High School Graduate or GED.
• Certified Surgical Technologist or equivalent required.
• BLS- CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates superior knowledge and practice in the first scrub role.
• Understands supply costs and works with team to assure quality of care while cost containment is considered.
• Demonstrates knowledge of varied surgical equipment and instrumentation; ensures equipment and supplies are available for each procedure.
• Assists in communication with Biomedical Services on equipment status and maintenance.
• Educates staff in care of instrumentation and equipment.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

• Demonstrates superior knowledge and practice in the first scrub role
• Understands supply costs and independently Works with team to assure that quality of care is maintained while cost containment is considered
• Demonstrates superior knowledge of the varied surgical equipment and advanced surgical instrumentation. Assures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
• Assists in communication with Biomedical Services on the status of equipment needing repair or maintenance
• Educates staff in the care of instrumentation and equipment

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate OR GED
• One of the following:
• Certified Surgical Technologist
• Technologist in Surgery-Certified
• Certified First Assistant - Certified Surgical Technologists
• Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA
• BLS - CPR (W/ American Heart Association), within 14 - days

Pay Range

$27.36 - $40.70 /hour
