Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Surgical Tech II assists with nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. They assist surgeons in the operating room by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies. The role involves performing job functions tailored to the patient's age and developmental needs, working under the supervision of the circulating RN in the operating room. The employee demonstrates a commitment to patient- and family-focused care and follows policies and procedures related to supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: At least 2 years of Operating Room experience across various surgical specialties. Effective and tactful communication skills with patients are essential.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Completion of an Operating Room Technician Training Course or equivalent. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
$61,360.00 - $105,966.00
CHLA values each team member’s contribution. Final starting pay will depend on factors such as education and experience. The listed pay scale generally applies to candidates meeting the specified qualifications. Additional compensation may be offered to those exceeding these requirements.
