Qualifications

• Active certification must be maintained throughout employment.

• Perform selected perioperative technical procedures once competency is demonstrated.
• Work closely with RNs and other healthcare professionals to deliver seamless patient care.
• Support the surgical team by maintaining standards of perioperative nursing practice.
• Provide technical services and assistance that contribute to excellent patient and family experiences.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

The newly graduated Surgical Technologist must obtain certification within 12 months of hire date to maintain employment unless an extension has been granted by the OR Manager. All grandfathered CST’s must maintain CEUs as defined by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (60 CEUs every 4 years). The CST must maintain an active certification throughout employment.
