The role you’ll contribute:

Under supervision, a surgical scrub technician/nurse assists with patient care in surgery by performing technical and delegated duties. Functions as part of the surgical team, providing care to patients across age groups (neonate to geriatric). Adheres to all applicable rules, regulations, and standards, and actively participates in outstanding customer service, maintaining respectful relationships.

• Performs surgical scrub duties, anticipating the surgeon’s needs and informing the circulating nurse of requirements.
• Ensures all supplies, equipment, and medications are prepared prior to procedures.
• Maintains high standards for cost savings and quality in the operating room.
• Assists with efficient operating room turnover, directing ancillary staff as needed.
• Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment and participates in training and education.
• Promotes a safe environment, taking action in emergencies and reporting hazards.

Qualifications:

• Valid Florida license as a Licensed Professional Nurse. Additional surgical technician certification not required.
• Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT. RN training program completion accepted in lieu of certification.
• BLS certification.
