Job summary

The Judge Group seeks a Travel Surgical Technician to support the Operating Room team in Lafayette, LA. The role involves assisting surgeons and staff, maintaining sterile instruments, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative process.

Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM), 40 hours per week. Requires CST certification, BLS, and at least 2 years of hospital OR experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required (Online certification not accepted).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist during a variety of surgical procedures.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure operating rooms are properly stocked and ready for procedures.
• Assist physicians and nurses throughout surgical cases.
• Maintain sterile technique and comply with infection prevention standards.
• Support day-to-day department operations.
• Monitor and maintain equipment functionality and cleanliness.
• Stay current with clinical skills, certifications, and required training.
• Adapt to changing patient and procedural needs while maintaining quality care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
