Mass General Brigham is seeking a Surgical Tech II for the Night Shift on the Trauma Team at our Boston facilities. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible applicants.

The role supports fast-paced, collaborative patient care across multiple ORs and subspecialties, with responsibilities ranging from preparing patients to ensuring sterile processing and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

  • Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
  • Licenses and Credentials CST/NBSTSA preferred
  • Work Experience 2-3 years as surgical technologist in an acute care setting - required
  • 4 years experience in acute care setting; leadership - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participates in time-out procedures.
  • Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Sets up equipment independently.
  • Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
  • Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
  • Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

  • Work Experience Experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting – 2-3 years - required
  • Four (4) years experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting; committee and leadership experience – 3-5 years -preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room
  • Ability to multitask, can work in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
