Job summary

Mercy Health in Tiffin is seeking a Non-Certified Surgical Technologist to support the operative team. The role involves preparing sterile instruments, assisting with case preparation, and maintaining aseptic technique alongside the surgical staff.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and an accredited Surgical Technology credential; BLS is preferred. Experience in perioperative settings is advantageous, with a typical 36-hour work week in a Days/Evenings shift at the Outpatient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required, unless being hired into a Labor and Delivery unit in Ohio then preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred).
• One year of perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instrument for the procedure.
• Provides complete case preparation with the ability to adapt of special instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assists with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
