Will also function proficiently as a first scrub in one additional specialty and may function in the second circulator role.**Job Description****Job Duties*** Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to independently perform core and specialty procedures.* Anticipates the expected progression of events and modifies the plan accordingly.* Demonstrates an increased level of prioritization.* Possesses knowledge of multiple types of equipment.* Possesses knowledge of contents of instrument trays in at least one service.* Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.**Department Specific Duties**OR* Professionally guides RN circulators in their role and functions as second circulator.* Serves as orientation assistant for Level I Tech and models positive behavior.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Must meet Level I criteria* Demonstrates knowledge of techniques used by various surgeons for various procedures* Maintains technical skill level and adapts to changes in surgical technique and operative intervention modalities.* Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff and nurse manager toward the organization* Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments, as observed by nurse manager**Education*** Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or equivalent experience required.**Licensure, Certification, Registration*** Currently certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with the American Heart Association required.**Pay Rate Type**Hourly***Mercy is an independent, community-based organization supporting the Cedar Rapids area for over 120 years.***Mercy is an equal-opportunity employer.
