Sweetwater Care is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our local/travel team, providing essential support in the operating room across diverse settings.

You will prepare the OR, pass instruments, manage equipment, and assist with patient safety throughout procedures, with on-call availability and strict adherence to professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring sterile equipment and supplies.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons while maintaining a sterile field.
• Set up and operate surgical equipment under supervision of licensed professionals.
• Position patients and prep the surgical site to support safe procedures.
• Assist with patient transport and positioning within the operating room.
• Handle and dispose of specimens and biohazardous materials per infection control guidelines.
• Sterilize, disinfect, and maintain surgical instruments and devices.
• Be on call to support variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

As a Local or Travel Certified Surgical Technologist, you will embark on an exciting journey, assisting surgeons and nurses in delivering safe and efficient patient care during surgical procedures. Your role will be essential in ensuring the success of surgical operations, patient safety, and positive clinical outcomes across diverse surgical settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the operating room (OR) for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
• Set up and operate surgical equipment, such as lights, suction machines, and electrocautery devices, under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals.
• Prepare and position patients for surgery, including prepping the surgical site, draping, and securing patient safety devices, in accordance with established protocols.
• Anticipate and respond to the needs of surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures, providing timely assistance and ensuring smooth workflow in the OR.
• Assist with patient transportation, transfer, and positioning within the OR, maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout the surgical experience.
• Handle and dispose of surgical specimens and biohazardous materials appropriately, following infection control guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Perform surgical instrument sterilization, disinfection, and maintenance procedures, ensuring compliance with standards of practice and quality assurance measures.
• Willingness to be on call to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet surgical scheduling demands.
