Qualifications

• Completion of validation skills required.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup required.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• State CST certification or equivalent credential required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares sterile dressings and clean instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
• Handles surgical specimens with high accuracy.
• Recognizes and responds to emergencies appropriately.
• Checks supplies and equipment needed for procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
