Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support sterile technique and assist in diverse surgical procedures. The role involves serving as a clinical resource to staff and surgeons within the operating room.

In a fast-paced OR, you will pass instruments, maintain sterile fields, and communicate effectively with the team. Candidates may be new graduates; NBSTSA/NCCT certification is preferred, and CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a CAAHP accredited OR technician program.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification as Surgical Technologist.
• New graduates accepted; prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room by opening sterile supplies per procedure and physician preference card.
• Pass instruments and provide sterile items to surgeons; maintain sterile technique.
• Assist with procedures and support the surgical team across cases from routine to complex.
• Check, mix, and distribute fluids and drugs on the sterile field; connect drains and tubing.
• Perform surgical counts and follow AORN standards and hospital policies.
