Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a Surgical Tech II to support neuro, ortho, general, and GU/GYN procedures. This role operates on rotating 10-hour shifts and is integral to ensuring sterile technique, instrument handling, and safe, efficient surgical care.

You will mentor junior staff and coordinate with the surgical team to maintain patient safety and workflow. Two or more years of experience and completion of a formal Surgical Technology program are required, with BLS on file and CST

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Surgical Technology program.
• Two or more years of Surgical Tech experience.
• BLS certification required; CST preferred.
• Ability to scrub neuro, ortho, general, and GU/GYN procedures.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates surgeon needs by passing instruments, supplies and equipment promptly.
• Maintains sterile technique and handles sharps/sutures according to policy.
• Ensures correct counts of instruments and sponges with circulating nurse.
• Prepares the surgical field and verifies equipment readiness for scheduled cases.
• Contributes to room turnover and supports team communication throughout procedures.
