The role requires knowledge of sterile technique and the ability to thrive in a team environment, with responsibilities ranging from room preparation to assisting with instrument handling and dressing applications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program (Required). Substitution: AST Training Program may substitute for Armed Forces/Military Certification (with documentation).
• Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required)

Responsibilities

• Assist the operating room team by preparing the OR suite for surgical procedures in a timely manner.
• Practice aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Apply appropriate cleaning techniques in the operating room.
• Participate during the course of the procedure by handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
• Assist with applying the dressing to the incision.
• Clean and restock the room assigned.
• Assist with in-service and training of new personnel.
• Take call as assigned.
