Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe, GA is seeking a Surgical Tech First Assistant in the Operating Room on a PRN basis. The role supports a high-volume OR performing orthopedics, general surgery, and more, under the supervision of surgeons.

You will function as first assistant, prepare sterile instruments, maintain sterile field, and assist in emergent cases. Requirements include CST certification, BCLS, 3 years perioperative experience, and completion of First Assistant credentialing.

Qualifications

Our cross-trained surgical staff supports a broad range of services including orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, robotic-assisted procedures, bariatrics, gynecology, podiatry, and endoscopy. The OR team is composed of RNs, surgical technologists, CSFAs, and procedure support technicians, with staffing aligned to AORN standards to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient care.

Responsibilities:

Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures in accordance with credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification. Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case. At time facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment in the role of scrub tech. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.

Qualifications:

Education
