Job summary

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, part of the HCA Healthcare family, seeks a Surgical Technologist Extern PRN to support operating room teams in a fast-paced setting. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist during operations, and collaborate closely with a skilled team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have Basic Cardiac Life Support within 7 days of start date.
• LPN/LVN license, certificate, or associate degree required.
• No travel required.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the surgical suite with instruments and equipment.
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping.
• Scrub in and provide instruments, handle specimens, anticipate needs of the team.
• Monitor patients and equipment during procedures, respond to concerns.
• Uphold sterile technique and assist with room turnover.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
• Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
• Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
• Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
• (LPN/LVN) Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse, or Certificate, or Associate Degree
