Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Surgical Tech to join our team for a 13-week assignment. The role is to assist the surgical team with instrument handling, room setup, and patient care throughout general procedures.

Description:Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members, responsible for handling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during general surgical procedures.
Ensures understanding of assigned surgical procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the assigned surgical team.
Provides service support related to patient preparation, patient transport, building services, and assisting the surgical care team with specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs.
Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.
Scrubs on general surgical procedures.
Prepares operating room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of surgery.
Assures proper functioning of instruments and equipment prior to use and reports needed repairs appropriately.
Follows established departmental policies and procedures, including quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Displays cost-consciousness in opening sterile supplies and in the care and handling of surgical instruments.
Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures and notifies the appropriate personnel.
Makes necessary supply deliveries to units and ancillary departments.
Maintains a safe and clean room environment.
Keeps the room free from clutter, cleans and stocks rooms, and returns equipment and supplies to designated storage locations.
Helps maintain cleanliness of assigned areas.
Provides comfort and support for pre-operative patients by demonstrating sensitivity to patient care and privacy.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and department care information.
Participates in discussions regarding job enrichment and career progression.
Completes required education in a timely manner and participates in ongoing department-specific educational programs.
Actively participates in audit monitors and department task forces.
Supports administrative and departmental governance changes to job role and operations.
May train or precept new employees in the Surgical Technologist I role.
Assists leadership in adjusting par levels for efficient supply management.
Recognizes and participates in continuing education.
