Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team in performing safe, age-appropriate patient care during moderate to high acuity cases. The position involves assisting with sterile technique, instrument handling, and collaboration with nursing and surgical staff.
The ideal candidate will hold a CST and BLS, possess strong communication skills, and be able to adapt to call requirements and potential on-call duties.

Description:The Certified Surgical Technologist functions under the direction of the registered professional nurse.
Assists the healthcare team in providing safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware patient care.
Possesses the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform duties within the context of moderate to high acuity surgical cases.
Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team.
Exhibits an acquisition of additional surgical skills for more difficult cases.
Demonstrates an efficient, organized surgical plan for assigned cases.
Takes initiative to discuss surgical plans with other members of the healthcare team.
Able to troubleshoot instruments and equipment.
Anticipates any additional supplies or equipment required for procedures.
Ability to mentor, precept, or train in various modalities.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
Duties include preparation of the operative suite and surgical field to ensure a safe environment while maintaining sterile conditions.
Gathers required instruments and supplies and serves as a surgical assistant as needed.
Additional duties include assisting with inventory, ordering, and stocking surgical areas as assigned.
Ensures compliance with applicable standards at all times.
Call or late coverage may be required.
Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
Assists with room setup to include opening sterile supplies and preparing the sterile table.
Performs appropriate surgical counts with the circulator.
Actively participates in procedure pauses/time-outs.
Maintains an organized back table and operative field.
Prepares sterile dressings and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
Applies principles of asepsis to ensure prevention of infection and safety of patients.
Observes patient condition and reports any changes or significant findings to the physician and registered nurse.
Proactively plans for the next steps in procedures as needed.
Prepares operating room and other areas for receiving patients, including stocking and cleaning.
Maintains accountability related to supplies and equipment management.
Provides relationship-based patient-centered care that adapts to population-specific characteristics.
Partners with patients by verifying procedures and demonstrating effective communication.
Upholds organizational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and accreditation standards.
Supports evidence-based practice and teamwork.
Serves as a patient advocate, focusing on care and safety.
Assists with maintaining cleanliness in surgical areas.
Completes all initial and ongoing competencies and participates in training for new policies or equipment.
Maintains current knowledge and skills related to surgical technology through continuous education.
Assumes responsibility for other duties as assigned.
