Job summary

Barstow Community Hospital seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room under the Director of Surgical Services. This role supports patient safety and efficient surgical care.

You will prepare and handle intraoperative supplies, set up instruments, and anticipate surgeons’ needs to maintain a safe sterile environment. CPR certification is required within 2 months of hire. Collaboration with the team is essential to deliver quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or national association certification required.
• Experience as scrub technologist preferred.
• Strong instrument handling and setup skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle intraoperative supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a safe, optimal sterile environment for surgeons.
• Assist with patient transport as needed.

Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist works intra operatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgeon environment for the patients. The Surgical Technologist will perform as a team member for the common good of the patient take responsibility for personal action.

Education

• High school graduate or Certification from national association of surgical technologist

Certification

• Certification from National Association of Surgical Technologist required

CPR

• CPR certification required (must obtain within 2 months of hire)

Experience

• One year experience in a main operating room within the last two years preferred
• Basic knowledge of scrub role
• Handling of instruments, set up, anticipates surgeons needs
• Knowledge of autoclaves
• Transporting patients

Salary

• Certified Tech - Pay Range $24.13- 30.00
• Non-Certified - Ray Range $21.00 - $27.00
