Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Birthplace Technician to coordinate surgical scrub duties and support the Birthplace unit. Under supervision, you will assist the surgical team with equipment, routine checks, and patient data documentation.

Responsibilities include observing patient condition changes, coordinating sterile supplies for labor and delivery, documenting care, and preserving specimens for study. Collaborative teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a School of Surgical Technology or equivalent military training with surgical technologist experience.
• 1 year experience as requested.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports changes in patient condition to inform treatment plan.
• Coordinates equipment and sterile supplies for procedures in labor/delivery and operating rooms.
• Documents intraoperative and intrapartum care for hospital records.
• Assists circulating nurse with labeling and preserving surgical specimens.
• Uses devices to communicate and liaise with staff and the public as needed.
• Collaborates with colleagues to meet department objectives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
