Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Retrieve and review case cart to ensure all physician requested supplies, instruments and equipment are available and sterile.
• Open sterile supplies according to aseptic technique for the procedure.
• Scrub for cases per sterile procedures; don operative clothing, sterile gown and gloves, assist surgeons.
• Prepare and maintain the surgical field; assemble equipment and instrumentation per procedure.
• Assist in surgical procedures, anticipate needs of patient, surgeon and team.
• Disassemble sterile field and instrumentation for decontamination.
• Perform counting procedures to promote patient safety.
• Assist in moving and transferring patients to and from stretchers and beds.
• Position patient and retract tissue as directed by the team.
• Follow hospital policies and maintain effective communication with the healthcare team.
