Your Job:

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the best care for patients. The Surgical Technician II Certified understands the procedure being performed and ensures all equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgery, and participates in setting up and turning over the operating room.

Your Job Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
• Graduate of certified Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or AD in Surgical Technology preferred
• Basic Life Support certified
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Advanced competencies in at least 3 specialties (to be determined by each hospital)

Your Job Responsibilities

• Anticipate needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies for the procedure
• Pass instruments to the surgeon and assistant during the procedure
• Assist with terminal cleaning of the room and preparation for the next case
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization and transport to SPD
• Follow all policies and procedures, including count policy, universal protocol, and medication labeling
• Train and supervise students and inexperienced staff in passing and retrieving instruments during surgeries
