Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the Greenbaum Specialty Surgical Hospital team in Scottsdale, AZ. You will scrub and provide instruments, maintain the sterile field, and anticipate instrument and supply needs for procedures.

You will support orientation and training of new staff, assist with OR restocking, and ensure a clean, safe work environment. A high school diploma, surgical technology education, and BLS are required, with an associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates in Surgical Technology preferred.
• 10+ months surgical technician experience or graduation from vocational surgical technician program required.
• BLS certification required; Certified Surgical Technician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a proper sterile field throughout procedures.
• Prepares for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies and ensuring working order of instruments.
• Assists in positioning, scrubbing, and passing instruments during surgeries.
• Re-stocks and cleans Operating Rooms and equipment; maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Participates in orientation, guidance, and evaluation of performance of new staff and students.

Assumes accountability for instrumentation and returns instrumentation to the decontamination room or Central Sterile Processing Department.Actively participates as a member of the health care team to include orientation and instruction of personnel functioning in the scrub role.Participates in the re-stocking and cleaning of Operating rooms and equipment.
