Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA, seeks a Surgical Technologist for the operating room. The role ensures the OR is properly prepared and assists the surgical team from start to finish, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.

Licensure in Virginia, NBSTSA/NCCA certification, and BLS are required; prior Surgical Technologist experience is preferred. Sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is offered for qualified candidates.

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist ensures that the operating room is properly prepared with the necessary instruments and equipment and assists the surgical team throughout the procedure by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon. The role involves maintaining patient safety and ensuring that the surgical environment is organized, clean, and sterile. The Surgical Technologist assists in applying dressings, securing surgical drapes and transferring patients to recovery areas. Adheres to infection control protocols and sterile techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Works closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth and effective procedures.

Surgical Technologist Licensure required in the state of practice.

• NBSTSA/NCCA Surgical Technologist Certification REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification REQUIRED

Experience

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $30.26 - $44.75 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977.
