Job summary

A leading health system in Framingham is seeking a qualified Surgical Technician to assist during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have completed a surgical technician program and hold a BLS certification. Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic techniques, preparing the operating room, and assisting in surgeries. Preferred candidates have at least one year of experience in the surgical technician role. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is based on eligibility.

Position Summary

The Surgical Technician demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for assigned cases.
• Scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
• Pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, setting up OR and supplies needed for day/following day’s schedule.
• Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
• When need arises, perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of surgical technician program as required by state regulation of practice or policy.

Experience

• Preferred: 1 year experience as a surgical technician.

Certifications

• Required: BLS.
• Preferred: Surgical Technology Certification.
