Job summary

MetroWest Medical Center - Consolidated is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, instrument assembly, and sterilization for surgical procedures. This role supports the surgical team by ensuring timely delivery of clean, sterile instruments and related supplies.

Required education includes a high school diploma or GED and completion of a sterile processing program or 1 year of hands-on experience, with BLS and certification within 8 months.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a formal Sterile Processing Technician course with field training or 1 year of experience as Sterile Processing Technician or Operating Technician.
  • BLS certification.
  • To be certified with IAHCSMM or CBSPD within 8 months.

Responsibilities

  • Decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation.
  • Assemble and deliver surgical and interventional case carts; pare and replenish materials.
  • Collaborate with surgical partners to provide accurate and complete instrumentation and supplies.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Education

Job Summary

Up to $10,000 Sign-on Bonus Based on Eligibility

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for task-based sterile processing activities.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for activities including, but not limited to decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation
  • Responsible for various software applications, assembly, and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials
  • Works in collaboration with surgical partners to provide accurate and complete surgical instrumentation and needed supplies.
  • Performs related duties as required
Qualifications

Required:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Completion of a formal Sterile Processing Technician course with field training or 1 year of experience as Sterile Processing Technician or Operating Technician.
  • Certification:
    • BLS.
    • To be certified with IAHCSMM or CBSPD within 8 months

Preferred:

  • Experience: 1 year as sterile processing technician with completion of formal sterile processing technician course.
  • Certification: Current certification through internationally recognized organizations such as IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) or Certification Board for Central Sterile Processing
