Job Summary

North Central Surgical Center, an accredited Baylor Scott & White affiliated hospital in Dallas, TX, is seeking a full‑time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team.

Hospital Information

Opened in 2005, North Central offers 14 operating rooms and 30 medical/surgical patient rooms. It is located at Walnut Hill & 75 in the NorthPark area and specializes in Orthopedics, Spine, General Surgery, Pain Management, Urology, GI/Endoscopy, Plastic, and Podiatry. The facility is managed by United Surgical Partners International and is Joint Commission accredited.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, set up and maintain a sterile field for minor and major surgical procedures.
• Apply knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.
• Organize instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.
• Participate in a rotational call system as needed to provide continuous availability of patient services.
• Follow appropriate guidelines for setting up the sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of procedures performed in the Operating Room.
• Restock Operating Room supplies as caseload permits.
• Assist the circulating nurse in maintaining physician preference cards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of Operating Room CST experience.
• CST certification (required).
• Current BLS certification.
• Preferred: one year of experience in Total Joint, Complex Spine, and Arthroscopy.
