Job Summary

The Surgical Tech assists the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures as directed and is responsible for adequately preparing the operating suite for procedures. Monitors PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments. The Surgical Services Surgery Department includes General Surgery, Endoscopies, Orthopedics, Urology, OB-GYN, and Ophthalmology.

Principle Functions
  • Prepares Operating Room and field, selects instruments, and packs for appropriate cases according to surgeon preferences.
  • Assists with surgical procedures under the direction of the circulating nurse and/or practitioner, including passing instruments, sponge counts, and maintaining sterile fields.
  • Performs room turnover, decontamination of instruments, stocking, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Training and Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ prior experience in either inpatient or outpatient settings preferred. Total joint experience is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current CST and BLS certifications are a plus. Washington State DOH registration is required.

Benefit information and wage transparency: Employees working 0.5 FTE or higher are benefit eligible. Wage Range: $35.017 - $46.728.
