Job summary

STERIS is seeking a field service professional to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain sterilization equipment across hospitals. You will prioritize service requests, perform installations, and coordinate field upgrades with cross-functional teams.

A strong customer focus and teamwork are essential to support compliant documentation and customer satisfaction. The role includes travel within the assigned region, a company-provided vehicle, and ongoing hands-on training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 4+ years of work experience, including 2+ years in a mechanical/technical capacity.
• Associate’s degree or relevant certifications may count toward the technical requirement.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain STERIS and competitor devices in surgical and sterile processing environments.
• Independently prioritize PMs, service/warranty calls, installations, and field upgrades across territory to meet commitments.
• Collaborate with Technical Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to escalate issues and complete required documentation; present findings and pricing to customers.

Job description

You start your day from home, review your schedule on a company laptop, load parts into your assigned service vehicle, and head to a hospital’s Sterile Processing Department. A cart washer alarms mid-cycle; you diagnose, repair, and document the fix on your mobile app. After lunch, you consult with a Biomed team about a competitor’s sterilizer, then partner with STERIS Tech Support to escalate a complex fault. Before the day ends, you brief the Customer on options, pricing, and next steps—and line up a field upgrade installation for tomorrow.That’s a typical day for a STERIS Equipment Service professional—remote-based, largely inside hospitals, and pivotal to safe surgical care. In this role, you will service STERIS’s flagship OEM portfolio—washers, sterilizers, ultrasonics, steam generators, and cart washers—spanning 160 pieces of equipment, along with select competitor systems.What you will doTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain STERIS and competitor devices used in surgical and sterile processing environments.Independently prioritize PMs, service and warranty calls, installations, and field upgrades across your territory to meet Customer and business commitments.Collaborate with Technical Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to escalate issues and complete required compliance documentation using advanced technology platforms.Present findings, repair options, and pricing to Customers; cultivate relationships with Sales to enhance Customer experience and uncover revenue opportunities.Support multiple sites within your assigned region based on service agreements and demand.What you bringHigh School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of work experience, including 2+ years in a mechanical/technical capacity.
