Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver high-quality, direct patient care in a team-based setting. The role supports efficient clinic operations, maintains patient flow, and assists with EHR documentation and prescription tasks.

The position requires a high school diploma, and 6 months of clinical classroom experience, with preferred certifications such as EMT, Phlebotomy, or the BILH Clinical Assistant Training program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• EMT Basic License or Phlebotomy Certificate or related healthcare training preferred.
• BILH Primary Care Clinical Assistant Training program is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Through relationship development and care team coordination, contribute to patient, practice, and organizational goals.
• Assists patient during visits, facilitates flow, updates medication/allergy lists, and reviews screening questions.
• Communicates clearly with patient and team, provides hand-offs to provider.
• Performs medical assisting duties under supervision: vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, immunizations (MA program graduates).
• Lead conversations to meet population health goals, perform outreach, and assist with data gathering and health coaching.
• Monitor and maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensure cleanliness and expiration dating.
• Queue prescriptions in EHR and document tasks for proper billing.
• Schedule diagnostic tests, verify insurance, prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
• Identify OSHA compliance issues and ensure PHI is used appropriately.
