Job summary

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Surgical Services Materials Tech to assist with inventory management of medical supplies and keeping supply rooms stocked. This role supports MOR and ASC operations and collaborates with the Material Coordinator to procure supplies.

Responsibilities

• Perform MMIS receiving transactions using handheld/iPad and desktop applications.
• Replenish par locations through par replenishment methods including picking orders and filling bins.
• Requisition commodity/central store supplies.
• Assist in stock put away and maintain a clean environment.
• Follow up on order issues, shortages and substitute products when required.
• Pull procedure carts/pick sheets to prepare for surgeries.
• Assist in supply chain projects and inventory audits and setup.
• Clean/disinfect equipment and carts; may operate motorized pallet jacks.
• Cross-train in other materials functions.

Job description

The Opportunity: Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City MO is seeking a Surgical Services Materials Tech to assist with inventory management of medical supplies and keeping supply room stocked. This position is responsible for the activities, functions and operations in MOR and ASC. The Materials Technician is also responsible for working collaboratively with the Material Coordinator to facilitate the procurement of supplies. The activities include effectively optimizing inventory penetration supply chain efficiency and effectiveness and other assigned functional responsibilities.

Shift/Hours info: The hours for this role is Monday through Friday from 6:30AM to 4PM. There is no on-call, holidays, or weekends required with this position.

The Work:

• Performs MMIS receiving transactions using both handheld/iPad and desktop applications
• Complete the replenishment of par locations through par replenishment methods including picking orders, gathering/filling empty bins
• Requisitions commodity/central store supplies
• Participate in stock put away, breaking down cardboard and maintaining a cleanly environment
• Follow up on order issues, including missed picks, shortages and obtaining substitute products when required
• Pull procedure carts/pick sheets to prepare for surgeries
• Assist in supply chain projects and initiatives including the building of carts, labeling supplies, participating in physical inventory, and setting up or reorganizing
• Achieve quality and safety expectations including auditing inventory locations for regulatory compliance such as cleanliness, organization, expired supplies
• Clean/disinfect equipment and specialized carts for deployment throughout the hospital
• May operate motorized pallet jacks
• May be cross-trained in other materials functions
