Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Surgical Services Registry Abstractor to perform detailed medical record review and data abstraction for quality measures and registries. You will manage complex data collection, ensure data integrity, and report findings to hospital committees to support patient safety and outcomes.

Requires a Bachelor's degree, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Suite; Epic experience is preferred and NJ RN licensure is noted as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work with all levels of staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office and/or Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Performs medical record review and abstracts clinical data to support quality improvement.
• Manages the record retrieval process for collecting data elements from patient records.
• Completes data input, error analysis and correction, and submission of data.
• Maintains meticulous records and reports data variances in monthly meetings.
• Identifies opportunities for performance improvement based on data trends.
• Learns the databases and participates in educational sessions.
