Short Description
Supports the Clinical Director in leading the patient care team to meet customer needs and oversees clinical operations to achieve departmental objectives. Responsible for directing, implementing, and evaluating patient care services within the Perioperative Setting in the absence of the Clinical Director.

• Actively coaches and supports staff, fostering professional growth and development. Assists with staff competency assessments and performance reviews.
• Encourages shared decision-making by involving staff in nursing practice and policy discussions.
• Assists in staffing management to ensure adequate and competent coverage on each shift.
• Oversees delivery of patient care ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Monitors clinical operational efficiencies, including resource management to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
• Ensures equipment monitoring and proper documentation and archiving of patient care records.
• Attends designated meetings and demonstrates clinical competency as a nurse within the specialty area.

Experience Required
Minimum 2 years in a Perioperative support services role with OR equipment knowledge. 2 years of OR leadership experience.

Education Requirements
Associate degree required; BSN preferred.

License/Certification Requirements
Current NJ-RN License.

Special Requirements
Strong communication skills, proficiency with the NDNQI database, confidentiality, computer literacy, organizational skills, and ability to work with diverse groups. Effective telephone skills, problem-solving, and experience in performance evaluations are also required.
