Job Summary and Qualifications

The Surgical Services Aide ensures the safe movement of patients between areas, assisting with daily patient care activities and ensuring supplies and equipment are available and functional.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working to achieve goals set during evaluations.
  • Maintaining professional behavior and conduct.
  • Applying functional and technical skills effectively.
  • Following standards of practice, policy, and procedure for patient care.
  • Practicing cost containment and resource conservation.
  • Building good relationships with team members, physicians, and departments.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in BLS or BCLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days of employment.
  • At least six months of healthcare experience.
