Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska, is seeking a Scrub Technician to support the surgical team under the direction of the RN. The role covers the full spectrum of surgical, diagnostic, and manipulative procedures, preparing instruments and supplies, and scrub duties during operations.

Candidates should have a surgical technician program or equivalent experience; a high school diploma or GED; and at least one year in a medical setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of surgical technician program or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• One-year medical setting experience preferred.
• Knowledge or willingness to learn sterilization procedures, equipment, instruments, wrapping and repackaging of instruments.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and provide instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies during surgical procedures.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and preparing for the technical needs of the surgical procedure.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout all phases of operative procedures.
